Duration

10 days / 9 nights

Starts in

Moshi

Guiding

Private expert guide

From

$2,585 per person

Highlights

A six-day Marangu climb with huts and an acclimatisation day.

A rest day in Moshi to recover before the safari.

A two-day safari in Tarangire and Ngorongoro, with lodge nights included.

Overview

The most popular way to combine Tanzania's two headline experiences: climb first, then celebrate with a safari. The rest day gives you time to recover, and the safari is a gentle way to enjoy wildlife on tired legs.

The climb follows the Marangu route, and the safari is a shortened version of the 2-day Tarangire and Ngorongoro trip.

Frequently asked questions

Can I swap Marangu for another route?
Yes. Ask us for a version on Machame, Lemosho or Rongai. The timing and price change with the route.
How fit do I need to be?
You do not need mountaineering experience, but you should be comfortable walking for several hours a day on consecutive days. Hill walking in the months before helps a lot.
What are the chances of reaching the summit?
They depend mostly on time to acclimatise, your pace and the weather. Longer routes and a slow pace give the best chance, but no operator can guarantee a summit.
