Trek with rangers through forest to find habituated chimpanzee communities.
A boat trip on Lake Tanganyika, one of the deepest lakes on Earth.
One of Africa's smallest and most historic national parks.
Overview
Gombe Stream National Park is tiny and steep, running from the beach of Lake Tanganyika to the ridge above. It is where Jane Goodall began her long study of wild chimpanzees in 1960.
You reach Gombe by boat from Kigoma. There are no roads. The trek is short but steep and warm, and sightings depend on where the chimps are that day. See Gombe Stream.

Frequently asked questions
Are sightings guaranteed?
No. Chimpanzees are wild and move through the forest. Most visits find them, but we cannot promise it.
Can we change the itinerary?
Yes. Every safari can be adapted: dates, lodges, number of nights and the parks you visit. Tell us what matters and we rebuild the plan.
What is the best time to go?
Wildlife viewing is good all year. The dry season from June to October is easiest for game drives, while the green season has fewer visitors and lower prices.
